Microsoft Bid on Yahoo - What about YPN?
Incase you haven’t heard recently, big giants Microsoft have put in a take-over bid for Yahoo. The bid is of $44.6 billion. Microsoft have made this bid to try to catch up to the leading Search Engine - Google. Google has been leading the Search Engine race since it first started, and now Microsoft want to challenge them.
So, if Yahoo do decide to accept this bid, what will it mean for the Yahoo Publisher Network? Incase you don’t know what this is either, the YPN is a PPC network just like Google’s Adsense and it has a lot of popularity, but due to strict rules of being approved and the program being in beta for over 2 years, it hasn’t really made its mark. With Microsoft in control of YPN (if its accepted), then maybe that all could change around. Microsoft could even merge YPN and Microsoft Adcenter together to make one big network, and maybe then they’d be able to catch up.
There are so many things that Microsoft could do with Yahoo. Maybe if Microsoft took their time and tried to make the network more stronger, YPN could finally be successful, and even Worldwide. Being US-Only and in Beta for over 2 years is ridiculous.
