Wordpress), you can easily force a linkback to your website in the template, and make it so its difficult to remove, or if you’re trusting, put it in the Terms of Use of the template so people cannot legally remove it.

If your template looks nice, a lot of people will probably want to use it, so if you know good places to advertise website designs and templates (Maybe even the forum of the software you created it for) then you’ll get popularity for creating such a nice design but you’ll also gain more backlinks, which can help in many aspects of the website, mainly for Search Engines.

Places where you could advertise are Namepros or Digital Point because you can give it away as a Freebie, and people on these main forums enjoy freebies, and since these forums are so popular, you’re sure to reach a large audience.
