Adsense Part 8 - Site Authentication
Welcome to Part 8 of the Learn Adsense Course. In this part, you’ll learn all about the Site Authentication feature in Google Adsense.
The Site Authentication feature enables Google to crawl your webpages that are behind a login page. You can do this so the Adsense Crawler can look at these pages to determine content for ad targetting. Google say that if you choose to do this, they will fully comply with their Privacy Policy.
Just so that you know, to access this Site Authentication feature, login to Adsense, go to Adsense Setup and then Site Authentication. You will be given a basic form to fill in then. You’ll have to fill in the fields based on your login script, and you’ll have to give them username and password details to an account so they can login.
The Site Authentication is certainly useful if you have good content that is visible by members only, and it will certainly help how targetted your ads are. It doesn’t take long to fill in, and it seems to be safe. However, you need to verify your website with Google Webmaster Tools after you’ve filled the form in (if you haven’t verified it already) so you’ll either have to upload a file or add a META tag.
Thank you for reading Part 8. We look forward to seeing you on Part 9.
