Adsense Part 14 - Link Units

Welcome to Part 14 of the Learn Adsense Course. In this part, you’ll learn all about the Link Units option in the Adsense for Content.

Before we actually begin to optimize ads with different techniques, you need to learn about a different type of Adsense for Content. This option is still quite popular, but is severally underused compared to the ordinary units.

Link Units are basically boxes with 4 - 5 links in them. They have no description or URL, just a simple link. These links are related to your content so it could be seen as a small Related links box.

I’m sure that you’ll have seen at least one before. They can be real money makers if you optimize them correctly. Good thing is, if your content is really targetted, then so will these links. They come in loads of sizes like the ordinary units, you can have them vertical or horizontal, based on how well it will fit on your website.

Now, to create these units, you basically do what you do to create ad units. Login to Adsense, go to Adsense Setup and then onto Get Ads. Then you navigate to Adsense for Content and click the radio button for Link Units. Once you’ve continued, you’ll be left with a page that looks that the page to create other units, such as selecting colours, channels etc…

Link Units are definately a good way how to make a bit of extra money. They’re good because they’re related to your content, and they’re quite small and don’t block the view of your content.
