Adsense Part 11 - Smart Pricing

Welcome to Part 11 of the Learn Adsense Course. In this part, you’ll learn all about the Smart Pricing Filter that Google place on some accounts, why they place it and how to get out of it.

Smart Pricing is where Google lowers the amount of money you get per click to a really low amount, such as $0.01 or $0.02. This is really bad for publishers because you can be getting $0.50 per click one day, and $0.01 the next.

The reason that Google place this Smart Pricing Filter on some accounts could be for a lot of reasons, including lots of fraudulent clicks on your account, ads being placed in places that could cause accidental clicks, bad conversion rates for advertisers, or the most common one, the majority of your clicks coming from “poor traffic countries” such as India or China.

Getting out of Smart Pricing could be quite difficult. One possible solution, which works quite often, is to block traffic from places like India or China. This may reduce your traffic levels (Especially if you’re getting this on a proxy) but you should find that you will start receiving decent clicks again after time. Eventually, your traffic will get back to normal. Another solution is to move your ads to places that are still going to get clicks, but make your visitors want to click the ads, because if they do it accidental, you’ll be getting bad conversion rates for advertisers, and that is what Google are concentrating on at the moment.

If you’re getting these low clicks on a proxy website, then you should expect it. Proxy websites are well known for getting really low clicks because of the bad niche, and they are also known for bad conversion rates for advertisers, so if you get this on a proxy, you shouldn’t worry too much because most proxy owners go through it.

Thank you for reading Part 11. We look forward to seeing you on Part 12.
