10 Steps to Ebay Success!
You may be using ebay to sell products or services (or wanting to). If you are wanting this, you’re obviously going to want to be successful. These ten easy steps below should explain how you can get your ebay business to be successful.
Step 1: Market Research - For a while, just go to ebay and take a look at some of the items that are selling well, and what isn’t. Before you start selling, you need to find out what people actually want on ebay, because if you don’t, you will end up selling items that nobody wants.
Step 2: Competition - Find some people who are selling in the same categories as you. Then, look through their auctions and find out any flaws they have. That way, you can beat them at their own game when you get started.
Step 3: Find a product - Look around a lot of suppliers and see if you can get the cheapest price you can for the products. Take a look on ebay for much these products cost and if they’re selling for more on ebay than you have to pay for them, then thats fine.
Step 4: Start Small - Now take things slowly, and don’t spend thousands on your idea straight away. Have tests with auctions to see what ideas work and what doesn’t, find out what works best for you.
Step 5: Repeat - Keep trying out loads of different strategies, and once you’ve found a good strategy, don’t be afraid to use it over and over again. You may have found a good niche!
Step 6: Business Plan - Yeah, some of you will just skip this step, but it can be useful. Make a business plan (of a few pages long) about your marketing opportunity, strategies, budget and strengths & weaknesses. You may just use this later on.
Step 7: Invest - Now this is the time to put some money in. Buy a lot of items to sell, spend money advertising on various places, tell people about your auctions etc… and don’t forget to set yourself selling targets each week so you can slowly see your sales increase.
Step 8: Official - A lot of people won’t do this step either. Once you’ve made a couple of thousand dollars, you may want to make your business official by registering your company. This step is quite optional, although recommended.
Step 9: Automation - You may have noticed that you’re writing the same things in the auctions over and over again, and the same replies to the auctions too. Try and find a piece of software that can do this for you, it will save you a lot of valuable time.
Step 10: Never Give Up - Even when you have a bad sales period and things aren’t looking well, never give up. If you keep on putting effort in, you’ll eventually succeed.
