Burst Media CPM - Review

This is a review on one of the most popular CPM networks there is.

The name is Burst Media as you probably guessed, and you also probably guessed that it is a CPM Network.

Burst Media starts like any other network - Fill in a publisher request form, wait 72 hours, sign an online contract and then get started.

Positives
The CPM given can actually be really high. A lot of advertisers have CPM set at $1+, and I even saw one advertiser earlier that was giving a staggering $10 CPM! That is the highest I’ve ever seen!

Another positive of them is that you can actually choose the advertisers that will be shown if you really want to. If you want to stop low-paying CPM ads, you can just not check the box next to them, and you can just select the high-paying advertisers.

The reports it generates are also quite good. The form shows barcharts to display revenue and page views, and it looks accurate too.

Negatives
The fill rate is said to be very poor. The fill rate is how many paid ads compared to the whole ads shown on your website. For example, if you have 100 page views and you get 50 paid ads, you’d have a fill rate of 50%. The rate I’ve got so far today is a shocking 9%. This is what lets the network down so much, because this is the whole point of the CPM Network.

The network doesn’t allow websites that are mainly based on forums either, and it doesn’t seem to let in Directories. That is a real shame actually, because many forum owners try to turn to CPM networks because PPC advertising doesn’t work well on forums.

Conclusion
Burst Media is definately a good network with some very nice features, but it could be a lot better if it wasn’t for the awful fill rate.

Stumble it!
