Webmaster Website have to be the most awkward type of website to make money from. You can’t use Pay-Per-Click Advertising because no webmaster hardly clicks on the ads, which means Google Adsense is out of the question.

The usual methods of making money are ffrom PPC ads or from selling blog posts (if its a blog) but these are rarely used. Thats why the methods used are going to be slightly different.

Instead of PPC Advertising, I recommend using CPM ads. This way if you can get the traffic to your website, you can make money no matter if they click it or not. The only problem is finding the perfect network. I recommend using a network such as HotPTP. Your only real thing to do then is to get traffic to your webmaster website.

Another way of making money you could use is selling links. Although Google doesn’t like this (and this method isn’t totally recommended), you can still do it. If you have a PageRank and you get traffic, maybe sell banner advertising or even a text link here or there could make you a decent income if you can do it correctly.

These are the two methods I would use for this sort of thing. Webmaster websites are difficult to make money from, so I wouldn’t really recommend making one in the first place but if you really want to, you should use these tips.

Yahoo Groups are incredibly popular these days. They are mainly used for advertising, but people can communicate with them. In this guide, you will learn how you can use Yahoo Groups to your advantage and then eventually make money from them.

Its easy to do this actually. First, you need to actually create the group that you want to make money from. Start by going to Yahoo Groups and creating a new group. Give it a simple name, and get it setup. Make sure you give people the option to post themselves. Make sure that the group is about proxies! This is important, you may see why later.

Now, once its all setup like you want and users can post, you need to advertise your group. See if you can get a few high-traffic proxies to put the subscribe button on their site to get some interest, or maybe just find a place where Proxy Owners discuss (Like a Proxy Forum) and then tell them that if they subscribe, they can advertise their proxy free of charge. You’ll get a lot of interest then.

Once you have a lot of subscribers and theres a lot of posts, you can change the options so subscribers can no longer make posts. Make sure you don’t do this too early or it will be highly ineffective. Now that only you can post and you have a lot of subscribers, try to go back to these Proxy Forums and sell your advertising to xxx members and sell it quite cheap. It only takes a couple of minutes to make a post for them, and people should be interested because its great advertising services.

Continue to gain more subscribers in other ways too so eventually you can make the prices higher, and then eventually you’ll suceed through your own Yahoo Group. It may take a while, but its definately worth it if you work hard.

Directories are very common on the internet. They are very popular too because people desperately want backlinks to their website for various reasons, including PageRank and traffic. You’re probably reading this tutorial because you either have a directory, want to create one or you just like to read all the tutorials here

Now, lets get started.

Directories (Also known as Link Directories, Web Directories, Site Directories etc…) are basically a big website of other websites. They list websites for other people so that these users can get more traffic from others and more backlinks for Google. If people want a good placement, they often have to pay for a featured link (Which makes their link appear ahead of everyone elses). The cost can vary depending on the traffic of the directory and of the PageRank of it, because obviously the higher the PageRank, the more that the linkback is worth.

How to start one
Well once you have a domain and hosting set up (Check the Courses category if you haven’t yet), you need a script to run the directory for you. Now, there are numerous ones on the internet, but the best (and most popular) is phpld. They do a free version, and the latest version which costs approximately $30. The free version is still good, but if you have a bit of loose change, I recommend getting the latest version.

Once installed and you’ve configured the options, added categories etc… and got it to how you like, then you may want to think about advertising your directory.

Advertise It!
This can be the trickiest part for a directory - To actually get the submissions. Now if you’ve just bought a domain name and its PageRank 0, then you should expect to get most submissions as free, maybe the odd 1 or 2 paid links. Thats absolutely fine considering that PR0 backlinks aren’t worth much. You can expect a lot more as you get a higher PR.

To advertise your directory, I recommend doing these:

• Directory Critic - This place gets the most traffic for directories. If you submit your directory to Directory Critic, you can expect a lot of traffic when you’ve submitted. Unfortunately, you have to place a link back to them and it can take a while for them to accept sometimes, but its definately worth it.
• Digital Point - DP has a big forum of members waiting to submit their website to your directory, so create an account and post your directory in the Announcements in the Directory section. It will definately get you a few more submissions.
• Other Directories - It doesn’t do much harm in submitting your directory into other directories. It gets you more backlinks, and may even get you more submissions!
• Social Networking - This probably won’t get you much traffic, but its worth a shot. If you use Social Networking to advertise, you might create more awareness of the directory.
