How to run a successful Adwords campaign!

Now if you’re running a website and you choose to advertise your website via programs such as Adwords, you really want to make this campaign successful, or else it would be a waste of time, and money. You want users to complete an action on your website I’m guessing since you started an Adwords campaign, so a successful campaign would be one that got as many users as possible completing this action for you.

Completing an action is also known as a conversion.

Now, here are some tips that I recommend following for your campaign to be successful:

  • Keywords - Use them wisely. Try to target big keywords to attract the most attention
  • Budget - If you set your budget high, then your ad will be shown on more websites. So if you have spare money, increase it a bit to gain more publicity
  • Description - Make the description of your campaign interesting and make it want to pull the reader in.
  • Website - With the link that the ad links to, make sure the task you want the user to complete is obvious on the page, but don’t make it stand out too much that they turn the page. Try to make this conversion task quite easy as well.
  • Keep Track - If possible, try to track what users do when they click your ad - If they go straight off the page most of the time, then maybe you should change it around a bit to make it more obvious. You need to try to get it right.

There was a few basic tips on how to run a successful Adwords campaign. Good luck following them, and good luck with your website.

PPC, CPM + PPP - Which is better?

Here are the three (Well two, One of them is new) popular methods of Advertisement Publishing.

Pay-Per-Click is programs such as Google Adsense. You get paid whenever someone clicks on the ads that you have placed. This is probably the most popular one. Payment given can vary depending on the niche of the website and of the publisher you are using.

Cost-Per-Mille is programs that gives you money per 1,000 times (impressions) that the banner is shown. Payment can range from $0.50 per 1,000 impressions to $5 per 1,000 impressions. This has to be the second most popular.

Pay-Per-Play is a new type of advertising created by Voice2Page. It pays you per 1,000 impressions (like CPM) but this time there is no visible ads on the page, only sound. So for example, every 3 minutes, your visitor will hear a small 5-second sound ad. Payments given for this can vary from $5 per 1,000 impressions to $14 per 1,000 impressions. Thats what they have promised anyway.

Now, lets compare which one is better.

Pay-Per-Click
Advantages

  • If the ad is relevant, it can get a lot of clicks
  • For some niche’s, it pays incredibly well
  • Really popular

Disadvantages

  • Ads are sometimes not at all relevant
  • Some niche’s pay real bad - eg. Proxies and Entertainment

Cost-Per-Mille
Advantages

  • No clicks required!
  • Great for websites with traffic

Disadvantages

  • Websites with little traffic will struggle
  • Payment can often be low
  • International traffic often not supported

Pay-Per-Play
Advantages

  • No visible ads to distract
  • Payment is promised to be high
  • Even counts if users have their sound turned off!

Disadvantages

  • Some users don’t like sound on websites
  • Nobody truely knows how good it is yet

So there are the advantages and disadvantages to these three types of programs. Its really difficult to actually say which one is better because each one will be better than the others on different types of sites. However, because of its popularity, I’d say that Pay-Per-Click was the best of the three because if ads are placed in good positions, it can be quite easy to make some money from them.

Earn Money From Every Visitor!

Well most of us have heard of PPC (Pay-Per-Click) and CPM (Cost-Per-Mille) but heres a new one - PPP. Pay-Per-Play is a new program that has been started. The ads are set to be shown on February 1st 2008, so you need to secure your place into the system.

Will it challenge Adsense?
Its really difficult to say. They’ve promised $5 - $14 CPM which is incredible really. Getting paid $14 for 1,000 visitors is brilliant. For those of you getting 20,000+ visitors a day, you’re sure to make a lot of money from this program. Whether it will have the budget and the will power to challenge Adsense is another matter though.

Only time will tell on how this company is going to perform. All you can do is setup up an account and wait and see how it goes. Everyone is eagerly waiting for February 1st, and I encourage you to join too at Pay-Per-Play Advertising.
