Autosurf Programs: Worth it or Not?

This is quite a debate. Many people use these Autosurf Programs. A simple search on Google will show you just how many there is.

What is an Autosurf Program?
Its where visitors have a website popped up for a small amount of time to gain “points” or something like that. With these points, these people can choose to have their website displayed in this program, so everyone who participates gets website-traffic, and maybe even increase the Alexa Rank.

Why is it worth it?
Well, many people use it because they don’t get much web-traffic to their website so they use it for exposure. If the site has a poor Alexa Rank, some people think that the Alexa Rank is important, so they use it to get better in the rankings.

Why isn’t it worth it?
To most people, autosurf programs is classed as “fake traffic” or “cheating”. If you were to sell your website and you had a backlink from an autosurf program, people are a lot less likely to buy it because it isn’t actually real traffic. Traffic statistics can show this too. Pay-Per-Click programs such as Google Adsense also don’t like it.

So, is it worth using it or not?
In my opinion, I would say it isn’t worth it. Many people detest these, and its not good to keep visitors unhappy. Make all your website’s traffic be completely natural, and you’ll see rewards come in, no matter how small your site is. Don’t cover up your website-traffic problem with an even bigger problem!

Thank you for reading this advice. So, in your opinion, is it worth it?

Adsense: Up, Up and Away!

Adsense. Most webmasters have heard about it, and have chosen to use it on their website, or to ignore it and use another program. Others spend their time moaning about how they broke the ToS and lost their account…

A lot of people use Adsense as their main income, as they can earn over $50,000 a year. Whatever way you look at it, thats a decent income from a website. However…

There are you who really struggle to make money. Maybe making less than $1 a day? You know who you are! This tutorial should give you some tips on how to get out of this “struggle zone” and start earning some money.

Placement
One of the most important factors. If your main information is near the middle, its a bit pointless putting your Google Ads near the bottom where nobody can see! You want to put them near th e content so people will think about clicking them. Also, don’t make the ads stand out too much that you look desperate, and on the other hand, don’t make the ads blend in so much that you can’t see them!

Google Adsense Example Placement

An example of where you should place your ads.

The darker places indicate the best places to put your ads to get clicks, while the white and lighter places don’t do as well.

Relevancy
If your site is about Cars, surely you don’t want ads being shown about Pink Elephants? (If Pink Elephant ads are being shown on your site, please e-mail us, we’d be very impressed). You can do something about it.

First, improve your META’s. Use our tutorial on this here

Another way is to use more keywords in your content, and to emphasize it out. Google says you can do this by this:

Use this at start of emphasize and Use this at the end of emphasize.

Sorry for not displaying the actual code, Wordpress doesn’t seem to like it.

Ad Format
Ad formats are also important. You don’t want ads to be too small that people won’t see them, or even too large (which also could ruin the layout and make you look “desperate). Test out numerous formats to find out which is best for your site.

In my opinion, Text ads are better than Image ads, because they are normally more relevant and earn more per click, but it is good to display Image ads to have more of a variety to your site.

Search and Referrals
Adsense for Search can earn you some money, but not as much as Adsense for Content in most cases. Like the ads, make sure it blends in well. Unfortunately, you only get paid when someone completes a search and clicks one of the Sponsored Ads.

Referral ads are like the same. Advertising Google Adsense is a good idea if your site has traffic because it someone signs up with your ad and gets $100 within 180 days of registering, you will receive a $250 bonus!

Get the Traffic!
You have no hope of getting clicks if people aren’t even visiting your website!

Some ways of getting traffic are social networking websites such as Del-icio-us, blog commenting, such as this one, and Programs such as Google Adwords.

Make sure you have unique content on your website too. Nobody wants to visit a site that has the same information that they’ve seen a million times before.

The ToS
The Terms of Service should be like the for you. If you do not follow it, Google God will notice and take you down to hell. Follow it and you’ll get rewards! For example, don’t click on your own ads, its pretty obvious! Remember: Google knows all!

You will find the ToS here For South Koreans and here For the rest of the world.

Good luck on your Adsense adventures now!

META Tags

META tags in the header can be very important for SEO. On the other hand, if not done right, it can be the let down of your website, so this tutorial should give you ideas on what to write for your META, and what to avoid.

Difficulty = 1/5

First, you need to know some of the types of META:

  • Title
  • Description
  • Keywords
  • Robots

The Title is probably one of the more important tags. This is the title shown at the top of the web page. You can use it by simple tags in the header.

The Description is the information that normally shows up in Search Engines when your site is listed in the results. You can use it by in the header.

The Keywords is the words that you’re targetting in some PPC (Pay Per Click) Programs and Search Engines. Choose these carefully to optimize traffic. You can use it by

The Robots tags are “commands” of what you want search engines to do on your website. The first part is index/noindex. Index means that it will index the links, Noindex means it won’t. The second part is follow/nofollow. Follow means that it will follow the outgoing links on your site, Nofollow means that it won’t.

META Examples

Thats an example of the META I’ve just talked about.

How to write the perfect META’s!
Well nobody can really tell you how to write the perfect META’s, but we can give you tips.

  1. Don’t make Title’s too short/long
  2. Make sure the description is unique and keyword-rich
  3. Make sure that you don’t use words such as a, is, are, and often in the description
  4. Have relevant keywords, and make them unique
  5. I recommend using index in the robot tags, it could get more pages on Google
